Rallying Our Community for a Greater Purpose

When you build something rooted in community, you show up for that community. This year, Autumn, owner of CT Kids Passport, has been nominated for the prestigious Visionary of the Year campaign with Blood Cancer United — an organization dedicated to funding life-saving research and supporting patients and families impacted by blood cancers. This nomination is an incredible honor. But more importantly — it’s an opportunity. An opportunity for our CT families and local businesses to come together, make an impact, and raise critical funds for research, treatment support, and hope.

“My “why” doesn’t just put life into perspective — it reminds me how fortunate we truly are.

Every day, we wake up and move through our routines without thinking twice about the simple things: getting out of bed, having food on the table, a roof over our heads, a car to drive, a job to go to. These everyday blessings feel ordinary to us. But for someone battling blood cancer, waking up and simply hoping for another day is not ordinary — it is everything.

And that is my why.

For the next ten weeks, I am committed to showing up for the families who are facing hospital stays, physical pain, overwhelming medical bills, and the uncertainty of what tomorrow may bring. My time and their time look very different. For many of us, ten weeks passes quickly. For them, time is precious in a way most of us cannot fully comprehend.

When I was asked to be nominated as a Visionary of the Year candidate for Blood Cancer United, my answer was an immediate yes. I didn’t know all the details. I didn’t know exactly what would be required. But I knew in my heart that this was something I needed to say yes to.

Over these next ten weeks, I am here to give this effort everything I have. To raise awareness. To raise funds. To stand beside families who should never have to face this journey alone.

Thank you for believing in me and for allowing me the opportunity to make a difference.”
